A Fight in a Monastery.

The man kept approaching, laughing cruelly the whole time. The axe in his hand glinted eerily in the tinted light.

Ian kept backing up. An axe would kill a vampire just as it would a human. He reviewed his options; there weren’t any, really.

“Vampire bastard,” spat the man, swinging the axe.

Ian ducked.

The man reversed the swing of the axe, far faster than Ian expected, and caught the monk across the temple with the dull side.

Ian collapsed.

Brother John struck the crazed man across the shoulder with a candlestick. Enraged, the man turned on him.

As the man swung, a dazed Ian threw the first thing he could find – a basin of holy water.

The crazed man screamed as his skin scalded away. The axe clattered to the floor in front of John’s feet.

“True holy water.” Brother Mark grinned, pulling the dazed vampire to his feet. “We really should have thought of that.”

Ian just nodded blearily and passed out.
